Hi, everyone! If you caught my welcome article (you can find that here), you saw there’s a lot in store for our blog. There will be a section for writing advice (“Writing Tips”) and a section full of content for those of us who love the literary world (“Get Lit”). Both sides of the blog are getting closer and closer to becoming a reality. While I’m sure there will be a number of you interested in writing advice, I know there are many who love to read as well. Because of this, I want my blog to attempt to meet the diverse needs of you book lovers, which includes having a portion devoted to books in general.
I plan to create one article per week for both Writing Tips and Get Lit, and actually my first article explaining the different editing styles will be released tomorrow. The literature side may include book reviews or themes from classic lit or popular novels, but there’s already a staple in place that will definitely be released every week:
A Harry Potter book club, which will be called, “Muggles and Mocha.” We’re going to Hogwarts, folks. I want to read through the entire series with you guys! This series will include a weekly article as well as a YouTube video of me discussing each chapter as a whole, ranting where my geekiness demands it. We’ll cover one chapter per week, which means if everything goes as planned, this blog series could last for three years and eight weeks.
THREE YEARS AND EIGHT WEEKS OF A HARRY POTTER BOOK CLUB.
Do I think this is possible? Heck, yes. I’ve been talking about this incessantly for the last eighteen years of my life—what’s another three?

On a serious note, of course this series will be adjusted as needed. If there’s ever a time when we need to change the rate the material is being covered, I will do so. So, if there’s an instance when it would be helpful to join two chapters together, that won’t be a problem.
Please read along with me! Many of you will have already read this series, but feel free to skim over the coming chapter as a refresher. Like me, you may find there are some details you’ve forgotten. On that note, if you haven’t read the books—there will be spoilers. Spoilers everywhere. So, enter at your own risk!
For the weekly articles, I’ll be focusing on one topic from the chapter, whether that be a character profile or a central theme from the books that’s brought out in the chapter of the week. The video and article will be released simultaneously, and you’ll be able to find both of them on my blog as well as my social media accounts, which are located at the bottom of the page.
Instead of just one topic, the YouTube video will cover thoughts from the entire chapter, which is where we’ll all get to nerd out together! I’ll talk about the chapter as a whole and discuss my thoughts about characters, certain scenes, themes, the movies—anything that we Potterheads are obsessed with.
I’m thrilled this is finally getting started, and I’ve already been reading and planning in preparation. The first article and video for chapter one will be released this Friday, so keep an eye out! If you’re not subscribed to this blog or keeping up with it through social media, please follow me through one of the links below so that you’ll be up-to-date on the release of these articles.
As I said, there will be more to come besides Muggles and Mocha in the “Get Lit” portion of my website’s blog. If you have ideas for other topics or books you’d like to hear about, feel free to reach out through the contact button below.
Here’s a video where I discuss this topic a bit further (as well as give you a glimpse of my intense excitement)!
Get excited! The first edition of Muggles and Mocha will be released this Friday. I can’t wait to geek out with all you Muggles out there!
Excited for your venture. Good luck. You might have just convinced me of something that my bigs have tried to for years; read the books.
